Stop CBS New York from Spreading Hate

Every day WCBS (news radio88) the New York area radio station engages in anti-Muslim propaganda.

This constant propaganda will spread hate against Muslims and may even lead to attacks on our mosques and persons.

On June 4th, 2002, around 2:30 PM, David Gilbert, the Jerusalem correspondent for WCBS news radio interviewed an "expert on Islam" from Israel about Kashmir. The "expert" blamed Islam and Muslims for the rising tensions on the Kashmir border, saying, "Muslims can not live under non-Muslims". He went on to say that the Muslim belief of imposing "Allah's rule over the infidels" is the cause for terrorism all over the world.

It was a crude attempt to get Israeli lobby's support for India. The news segment not only had an Israeli hatemonger talk about a south Asian problem, but also did not try to balance by airing a counter view.

CBS correspondent David Gilbert, unlike his other colleagues seeks out extreme Israeli militants after each incident in Palestine. These extremists then spread hatred against Palestinians and Muslims demanding them to be deported to Jordan or be killed.

Gilbert reported on April 23rd, that "terrorists" (not Palestinian militants) in the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem have looted the church. This was a lie. He called the Israeli army besieging the holy site as "Police". He did not report on the priest killed by the Israelis as reported that day by the BBC. It is just one of countless examples.

CALL 212-975-4321: WCBS Radio to protest. Tell them no other news program stoops so low or spreads lies so freely. Demand that David Gilbert be Fired and ask for CBS News Radio 88 newsroom.

- Ask them to write down your comment.
- Ask them the name of the news producer and his/her tel. #. Stay on line as long as possible.
- Tell them that Kashmiris were sold by British to a Hindu king for money and since then they are trying to liberate themselves the way American fought British for freedom.
- Tell them that the UN promised along with Indians that Kashmiris will be allowed to decide about their future.
